CD and JD met with Paul Ede and Chiara Fingland from Place At The Table, to discuss the Draft Local

.
Thanks to hall committee for use.

Glasgow airport airspace consultation
http://www.scottishairspacemodernisation.co.uk
Still awaiting notification of consultation results.
6. Transport Concerns
Update on Station Rd closure – works on railway bridge would now appear to be complete, with road
now re-opened. Still awaiting confirmation from NR, but due to costs involved it is unlikely that road
would have opened if works weren’t complete. Letter of thanks sent to RC, NR and thanks passed to
Story.
A8 roundabout
No accidents in last month
Speeding
LF identified still an issue on Main Road ofren speeding to try and get thru traffic lights, JG – child was
nearly knocked down at bottom of Station Road last Wednesday at school bus drop off. Discussion
confirmed there are Same issues in other villages. ME – suggested that the pavement on the north
side may need improvement. RC didn’t adopt that pavement on North side of Main Road. narrow due
to parked cars. Non maintained pathway might not be safe for dropping pupils.
Lack of public transport
Issue with Glasgow central, currently closed as entrances can’t be opened. Possibly open platforms 10
– 15 first. Inverclyde and Ayrshire routes will be prioritized.
DL – disappointing that Train service still running “fast thru” trains to / from Gourock.
7. Feedback from Renfrewshire Forum Meeting
This meeting was cancelled due to the upcoming elections. Next meeting will be June. It is hoped that
the agenda item with regards to transport, with representatives from SPT, will happen then.
8. Local Cllr updates and monthly reports
Cllr James McLaren Below
9. AOB
DEFIB update – relocation options, on fence at front of MUGA would be at a cost. We have requested
that Scotrail place a DEFIB on the South side of the station.
JS - Continuous Potholes on Main road identified as an issue, needs resurfacing.
JS – wall removed and dug out with debris and cones still lying on Middlepenny Road – Balnacraig.
ME background that there is an issue with the works causing delay in making it good
WM - very dangerous for pedestrians due to cones. Originally both houses were notified that the wall
needed repair, both houses have now changed hands. LCC will contact RC highlighting the dangers at
location R13, ongoing issue.

Crime Trends and Policing Priorities
No apparent crime trends within the village of Langbank.
Community Police Report
Police have continued to carry out high visibility patrols in and around the local Langbank area
and this will continue for the foreseeable future.LANGBANK COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Langbank March Report from Councillor James MacLaren
1 Dog fouling
This continues to be a problem on Main Rd. A mechanical sweeper has attended to clean the area but
the dog fouling continues. Signs have also been put up.
2. Local Partnership Grants
Local organisations should consider if they want funding from the Local Partnership this year. The fund
launched for applications on 29 January 2026 and will be open until midnight on Sunday 15 March
2026, with decisions due to be made by the Local Partnerships in May. Local groups can apply for
funding through the Renfrewshire Council website. Apply for funding from our Local Partnerships -
Renfrewshire Website
3. Council Funding
I forwarded a recent report on Council Funding. Other funding sources are available.
4. Community Payback Team
The recent report to the Communities and Housing Policy Board gave some good information on the
work of the Community Payback Team. Best to book them well in advance though. Some of the work
they do will require materials to be provided, e.g. paint for painting jobs. They also make planters.
5. Council Tax
Council has agreed a 7.5% increase in council tax plus a 5% increase in all charges with the exception
of parking charges which will not be increased."
6. Train Services
The recent fire at Central Station is lamentable. At the moment, services from Langbank are running to
Paisley Gilmour Street, and ScotRail are working with bus operator colleagues to then allow people
onward travel to Glasgow from there. Some services have been cancelled because of trains being out
of position.
7. My Surgery Timetable
My Langbank surgery has now moved to the fourth Monday of the month.
